Champion's Trophy ascends

Champions trophy jumps up with just a few months from World T20. Maybe its about time ICC gave the playing XI inclusive of the other extra 4-5 players should be rested for some time before they commence with the next big tournament in mind. The matches will be played in all international venues in South Africa which often produces uneven bounce and pace in the pitch which makes the batsmen lives miserable and bowlers who can bowl sensibly, a paradise.Considering this as the host team's backyard, and their success ratio sky high along with the tag of World Number 1 ODI squad they can prove to be a formidable opponent than the others.

Master Blaster rises up for the occasion

Master batsman Sachin Tendulkar's consistent performance in the concluded tri-series between India, New-Zealand & Sri-Lanka, made the chances for the upcoming Champions trophy even brighter than what it was.No doubt, the maestro's brilliance can be questioned by anyone in the cricket world, but gaining confidence means that the odds to favour team India to lift the Champion's trophy gets a step or 2 closer than what it was expected to be.

Sachin made his presence felt after he scored his 44th century with a strike rate more than a hundred for almost the entire game right from the beginning which not only shows why the man's talent can never be questioned and will remain the phenom of this very commercial game with him as its brand ambassdor.

Fisichella switches to Ferrari for 2009

It's green to go, for red. Doesn't make sense right? But it makes a lot when you look up and recognize that racer who raced for Force India.Fisichella ,the man above in the pic with the trophy, will race for Ferrari(red) for the rest of the season in 2009 , after Force India's owner Vijay-Mallya mentioned that he would not stand in the way of his driver, after all it's a dream of every Italian racer to drive for Ferrari.

As for the Massa whose place will now be filled by Fisichella, he is recovering in a good rate and will be available for race from 2010. Ferrari seeks to get some of its glory back with hardly five races left in this season, in order to make a comeback next year by ending the current in winning ways.

Black Caps upsets the Lankans

Black caps(New Zealand) made their statement on friday with the conclusion of the T20 series by clean sweeping the series 2-0. Daniel Vettori was a pleased man at the end of the day when his team posted a strong total of 170 and struck them hard with ball right from the beginning. In fact it was clinical performance that one might think that the hosts were not just beaten, but defeated with all departments of the game.

And there's more to enjoy about in the New Zealand camp because not only Brendon McCullum fired up, but one of the most renowned fast bowler Shane Bond made sure his presence was felt on Friday after taking 3 wickets in 4 overs which is quite a brilliant performance for T20(a short format game of cricket).

With the Tri-Series in short duration upnext, the hosts(Sri-Lankans) must have to reconsider their strategies in order to live upto the expectations of the home crowd.

Next Stop ICC Champions Trophy...

With the dismal performances, from the likes of the cricket biggies can we expect the Champions trophy as a chance to prove the critics were wrong and that T20 format is just a matter of luck and timing? Fingers are crossed for the big guns who are rearing to go in the pitch & the masters of swing and spin are ready to cast their magic spells yet again.
